Tigo Energy, provider of SmartModule technology for photovoltaic applications, says it has received a positive bankability report from BEW Engineering. According to the company, this report validates Tigo Energy's technology's reliability as a scalable solar solution.
The BEW study includes assessments about the PV optimizer's production, performance and usability. It cites SmartModule's design as a simple power circuit topology using standard and robust components. Also notable in the report was Tigo Energy's exclusion of electrolytic capacitors, which improves system reliability, the company adds.
The report also covered fire and arc prevention, increased energy harvest, module-level performance monitoring and alert systems, and the optimizer's efficiency level.
