TRA-Mage Inc., based in American Fork, Utah, has introduced the Solar Tile Mount, an attachment method that the company says can secure PV panels to a roof deck without requiring replacement or penetration of the tile. The Solar Tile Mount provides three different heights, accommodating direct mount, horizontal batten and elevated batten designs.
Solar modules must be fastened to structural members such as rafters, trusses or purlins, and usually the tile pan does not line up in the correct location, TRA-Mage explains. The Solar Tile Mount can adjust up to six inches left or right, providing the versatility needed for products with large pans, such as an S-tile.
Additionally, because the Solar Tile Mount is adjustable, integrators can save time on each attachment, avoid making a hole in the roofing and save money on expensive flashings, the company adds.
