The National Electrical Contractors Association of Greater Boston (NECA), a trade group covering the region, has filed complaints alleging that unlicensed temporary workers are performing work at a solar park under construction in Dartmouth, Mass.
Borrego Solar Systems Inc., is the project's general contractor. However, the complaint was filed with the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure against CLP/Skilled Trades Solutions of Woburn, Mass.; D&D Electrical Contractors of Woburn, Mass.; Skilled Trades Services of Milwaukee, Trillium Staffing Solutions of Marlborough, Mass.; and Zimmermann Staffing of Panama City, Fla.
According to NECA, the four staffing companies – none of which possess the necessary Class A Massachusetts master electrical license required by law to engage in electrical contracting as employers – are filling electrician positions at the project, in violation of commonwealth law.
NECA and similar groups have previously filed similar complaints against companies involved with other Massachusetts solar projects, citing safety concerns. The most recent complaint involved a project in Southbridge.
