Trina Solar Introduces New Monocrystalline Module, Trinamount Mounting Product

Trina Solar Ltd., a manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products, has debuted two new products: a new monocrystalline module with Comax technology (TSM-DC/DA01A) and the Trinamount mounting hardware product.

The new TSM-DC/DA01A module is composed of 72 newly developed five-inch Comax cells and is expected to provide an effective solution for residential and small commercial systems. The cell is nearly fully squared, which gives approximately 4% more surface area than a standard cell, according to the company. This structure, combined with enhanced technology, means that it is expected to produce up to 10 watts more than the company's standard monocrystalline product.

In addition, the company has developed Trinamount hardware, which is expected to be compatible with a wide variety of roof types. Trinamount I is designed for tile roofs and is compatible with Trina Solar's TSM-PC/PA05 module. Trinamount II is designed for pitched roofs and comes with mounting hardware for composition shingle, standing seam, corrugated and trapezoidal metal roofs. Trinamount III is designed for use on flat roofs, especially with commercial PV systems.

Trina Solar expects to distribute the Trinamount solution in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia by the end of the third quarter of this year.
