Trina Solar Ltd. has sold its 50 MW solar power plant in Wuwei, China, to Huadian Fuxin Energy Corp. Huadian Fuxin will assume full ownership of the project with the completion of the transaction.
Jifan Gao, chairman and CEO of Trina Solar, says the sale is significant for his company as it underscores its ability to function as a developer of large downstream projects, from design through construction and final sale.
‘Wuwei is an ideal location for a solar plant because of its abundant solar resources,’Â Gao says. ‘We look forward to developing additional projects in the region.’
