Trina Solar Ltd. has signed an agreement to supply 51 MW of its dual glass solar modules for a PV power project at tea plantations in Xishuangbanna of China's Yunnan province.
Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co. Ltd., is the engineering, procurement and construction provider for the project, which will be used to power equipment for the plantations.
The project has a total capacity of 100 MW. Phase 1 of the project will be 51 MW and will utilize Trina Solar's dual glass modules, including approximately 43,516 of Trina Solar's TSM-255 modules and 154,284 of the company's TSM-260 modules.
Trina Solar expects shipments to be completed in the third quarter.
