Trina Solar Ltd. will supply PV modules to the University of Queensland's (UQ) St. Lucia campus in Brisbane, Australia, to be used for a 1.2 MW solar system that will be installed on the rooftops of four university buildings.
The system will be developed by Ingenero. It is expected to provide UQ with a significant source of energy and serve as a resource for students and staff, who will study the array's performance and collaborate with Trina Solar as part of UQ's drive to help develop next-generation solar technologies.
The Queensland Government is contributing a grant of AUD 1.5 million towards the AUD 7.75 million project, which will be capable of producing 1,750 MWh of electricity a year.
