Unirac Inc. says it has been awarded a contract to supply a solar mounting system to Bechtel Power Corp. for the 110 MW Catalina Solar Photovoltaic Project in Kern County, Calif.
The Unirac mounting system, specifically engineered for the Catalina Solar project, combines the company's ISYS Ground Mount 2.0 product with custom racking.
The Catalina solar project is one of the largest ground-mounted PV installations in North America. The project is expected to cover 1,100 acres and produce enough energy to power approximately 35,000 homes. Completion is scheduled for 2013.
