Upland Corp., a building materials solutions provider for the commercial construction industry, has agreed to sell and market FLEX solar modules from MiaSole, a thin-film PV module manufacturer, in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas.
According to the manufacturer, MiaSole FLEX modules are the most efficient thin-film, lightweight, flexible modules currently on the market, with an efficiency rating of +16%. These modules bond directly to the roof surface with a simple peel-and-stick adhesive.
The FLEX-02 Series module is available in two formats: the FLEX-02W and the FLEX-02N. The former is measured at 39.3 inches by 102.3 inches, rated at 360 W, and designed for low-slope commercial single-ply roof systems. The latter is measured at 14.6 inches by 102.3 inches, rated at 120 W, and designed for standing-seam metal roofs. The FLEX-02 Series module is certified to IEC 61646, IEC 61730 and UL 1703 standards.
Additional benefits include the module's low weight and its aesthetically pleasing look that preserves the roof's original appearance. Further, because there are no penetrations, there is no risk of leakage or damage to the contents inside the building.
