Upsolar, a provider of solar PV modules, says its UP-MxxxP series modules have achieved certification in accordance with Italian standard UNI 9177: Reaction to Fire Class 1.
UNI 9177 standards – guaranteed by the Fire Prevention Laboratory of Italy – ensure that installed modules are equipped to prevent the spread of fire. With this certification in place, Upsolar modules are now qualified for use on roofs in Italy requiring these specific security parameters, the company says.
UNI 9177 testing corresponds with the ‘Guide to the Installation of Photovoltaic Systems – Edition 2012,’ which is issued by the Italian Ministry of the Interior's Department of Fire, Rescue and Public Civil Defense.
