Earth Products Inc. has commissioned a 39 kW solar array at its headquarters in Emery, Utah.
Utah-based Creative Energies installed the array, which consists of 144 270-W SolarWorld panels and is expected to produce approximately 57.5 MW of electricity per year. The array was designed to provide 100% of the electricity consumed by the fertilizer company's mineral processing operations, with any surplus production sold back to the grid.
A portion of the cost for the project was provided by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
