Vaillant Solar Systems Inc., a San Diego-based solar thermal product manufacturer, has initiated Splash into Solar, a quiz and giveaway for California residents. The goal of the solar quiz is to educate homeowners about the financial and environmental benefits of solar thermal systems and help people understand the difference between solar thermal and photovoltaic systems.
‘Many people simply don't understand that solar creates other forms of energy than electricity,’ notes Tara Heiser, director of marketing at Vaillant Solar Systems. ‘My goal is to educate and inspire homeowners about solar water heating.’
The quiz is available at www.vaillantsolarsystems.com/splash. All California homeowners can enter to win a free Vaillant solar thermal system for their home (valued at $8,000). The solar water heating system includes two Vaillant auroTHERM collectors, one Vaillant auroTANK 80-gallon solar tank, one Vaillant auroMATIC solar control station and a complete residential installation by a Vaillant-certified installer. The giveaway ends Dec. 31.
