Vanguard Energy Partners LLC, a designer and installer of large-scale solar electric systems, has completed two solar energy projects at schools in Gloucester and Morris counties, N.J.
Vanguard installed a 301 kW solar photovoltaic system on the rooftop of Pitman High School that will generate approximately 350,000 kWh per year. The solar electric system comprises 1,284 modules and will produce nearly 40% of the energy needed to power the school.
At Gill St. Bernard's School in Gladstone, Vanguard installed a 146 kW array on the roof of the Athletic Center. The 676 panels will generate approximately 162,000 kWh, or nearly 70% of the facility's electricity in the first year.
The Gill St. Bernard's project was installed with no capital investment from the school because officials entered into a power purchase agreement. Vanguard arranged the financing and maintains the system.
