Veeco Instruments has released the NT9080 Surface Metrology System, a metrology system that utilizes white-light interferometry to measure critical surface texture nondestructively.
The company says the system is suitable for solar cell manufacturing, where it can help increase yield and reduce production costs without the complex operation and higher-priced features required for automated solutions.
With a small footprint, the NT9080 3D-measurement microscope accommodates a wide variety of samples and feature sizes as small as half a micron. Running on the Vision software platform, the NT9080 provides access to over 200 distinct analyses, and more than 1,000 critical parameters for measuring curvature, lay, bearing ratio, wear and corrosion.
