Veeco Instruments Inc., a provider of precision metrology solutions for scientific and industrial markets, has introduced the ContourGT surface metrology product family, the company's 10th generation of precision, non-contact, 3D optical surface profilers. The product family is optimized to address a wide range of advanced production QA/QC and R&D precision machining and manufacturing applications, including solar applications.
Based on Veeco's white light interferometry (WLI) technology and designed to complement Veeco's current NT9000 series of profilers, the ContourGT family includes significant improvements in measurement hardware, compute platform, operating and analysis software and user interface, the company says.
It features patented, higher-brightness dual-LED illumination that, when combined with the system's superior vertical resolution, greatly improves sensitivity and stability and enables precision non-contact 3D surface metrology in difficult applications and environments that are challenging for other WLI-based systems, according to the company.
The ContourGT family also features new Veeco-developed Vision64 operating and analysis software and an intuitive, modular user interface that provides user-level customization capabilities for a range of surface profiling metrology applications.
