Voltaix LLC, a manufacturer of electronic chemicals for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries, has significantly increased its trimethylboron (TMB) manufacturing capacity. Trimethylboron, a stable boron source, is a key material for the production of thin-film solar cells.
To support the rapid growth of this emerging industry, Voltaix is utilizing its established solvent-free process and has improved the product specifications for oxygen and other key contaminants to ensure that the product will meet the performance requirements of the solar industry.
‘TMB is particularly well-suited for solar process deposition applications because it has a superior thermal stability relative to more conventional boron sources,’ says Mike Pikulin, Voltaix' senior vice president.
