Wagner & Co., based in Germany, has debuted the Secusol solar thermal drainback system in the North American market. The product is an active, closed-loop hybrid solar thermal system with an integrated drainback function using proprietary technology that eliminates stagnation or freezing, the company says.
Secusol eliminates the need for a pump station and expansion tank to account for stagnation. The storage tank, with an integrated drainage reservoir, receives all fluid from the collectors and solar piping loop when the solar pump is idle, Wagner & Co. explains.
The system is available with either a 66-gallon tank or a 92-gallon tank, with either one or two collector packages. It is pre-assembled at the factory in order to reduce assembly time to four to six hours, the company adds.
