Wagner Solar Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Wagner & Co., has launched a new line of solar domestic hot water appliances. Backed by an electrical heating element (4.5 kWel), the new Secusol thermal appliances can be used to immediately retrofit existing domestic hot water heaters.
Installation time for a typical Secusol system, including collector mounting, can be reduced to four to six hours, the company says. The non-pressurized hybrid drain-back appliance allows for the solar loop fluid to drain directly back into the heat exchange coil, thus eliminating the need for a separate drain-back tank to be installed.
The unique pump integration also means that a traditional pump station does not need to be installed, the company adds. Wagner Solar pre-programs and pre-wires the solar controller to further decrease installation times.
