Wattner, a Germany-based renewable energy project financier, has acquired five newly built solar power plants in Germany with a total capacity of 17.1 MW.

The company will incorporate the projects into a closed-end solar fund called Wattner SunAsset 3. The total investment is approximately 27 million euros.

All five of the plants were commissioned before September. They include a 740 kW rooftop installation and a 2.5 MW greenfield installation in Mauna, Saxony. Two additional greenfield installations with outputs of 1.8 MW and 2 MW are located in Vahldorf and Atzendorf (both Saxony-Anhalt).

The largest power plant in the group, with a capacity of 10.1 MW, was built on a greenfield in Juterbog, Brandenburg, Germany.
