India-based Welspun Energy Ltd. has been awarded 32 MW of solar development projects by the Punjab Energy Development Agency through a single-stage competitive bid. The project is expected to be commissioned during the second quarter of 2014.
Under the terms of the contract, Welspun will construct two plants – one of 30 MW and another of 2 MW capacity. Combined, the installations are expected to produce 56 GWh per year for the Punjab state grid.
