WePOWER, based in Aliso Viejo, Calif., says the Solar Rating and Certification Corp. (SRCC) has awarded certification to the company's full line of solar thermal Direct Energy products.
In California and other states, installing an SRCC-certified solar water heating system qualifies homeowners to receive a share of federal stimulus money, including a 30% federal tax credit plus utility company cash rebates ranging from $900 to $2,000.
WePOWER's systems include an 80-gallon solar water tank and a 40 square-foot roof-mounted solar thermal collector able to offset up to 25% of total household annual energy usage and 30% of emissions, the company says, adding that a single collector is capable of producing the same amount of energy as 16 solar photovoltaic panels.
