Silver Spring Networks, a smart-grid networking solutions company, has added Thomas H. Werner, chief executive officer (CEO) of SunPower Corp., to its board of directors.
Werner has served as SunPower's CEO and a member of the SunPower board of directors since June 2003. Prior to joining SunPower, he served as CEO of Silicon Light Machines Inc., an optical solutions subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor Corp.
Previously, he was vice president and general manager of the Business Connectivity Group at 3Com Corp., a network solutions company. Werner has also held a number of executive management positions at Oak Industries Inc. and General Electric Co., and currently serves as a board member for Cree Inc. and Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
