WGL Energy and Conergy have completed a municipal solar energy system for the City of Atwater, Calif.
Developed by Conergy and owned by WGL Energy, the project consists of ground-mount arrays, as well as solar parking structures at the civic center and community center. SMA America supplied its Sunny Tripower TL-US inverters. The project is expected to produce over 1,200 MWh of electricity per year.
‘Solar brings the City of Atwater a clean, local power source, which will help lower the cost of electricity for residents for years to come,’ says Yann Brandt, Conergy's vice president for North America.
