White Construction Subsidiary Handling EPC Functions For Ontario Projects

Renewable energy developer Invenergy has chosen H.B. White Canada Corp., a subsidiary of White Construction Inc., as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for its Sandringham and Woodville solar projects in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.

The Ontario Power Authority is purchasing the output from the two 10 MW installations via a long-term contract connected to the province's feed-in tariff program. Both facilities, which comprise fixed-tilt ground-mounted arrays, are expected to be completed by August 2013.

H.B. White will engineer, procure and construct the balance-of-system components (racking, DC wiring, the AC collection system and the switchyard), as well as install the PV modules and solar inverters. The contract also calls for site preparation, security fencing and rack foundations.

White Construction previously worked with Invenergy on its 20 MW Grand Ridge solar installation in LaSalle County, Ill. That project came online this July.
