Wikoda Inc. has debuted its new PV Tracker product, which draws on the company's existing heliostat technology to yield an affordable solar tracking solution – a retail price of $349 to support up to 200 W of solar panels.
The PV Tracker is a dual-axis active tracker that incorporates Wikoda's ‘bend-don't-break’ technology, which allows the tracker to weather-vane in the wind should excessive wind speeds occur. The tracker is also fully self-contained and self-powered, and all of the sensors, computers and geared motors are housed onboard. No external programming is required, the company says.
The combined weight that the tracker can accommodate is about 30 lbs., which generally allows for one or two modules, depending on the manufacturer.
