Vancouver, British Columbia-based Xantrex Technology Inc. has installed 11 500 kW Xantrex GT500E inverters at the recently commissioned Rote Jahne solar power plant in Oberschuetz, Germany.
The solar power plant produces approximately 6 MW of power and is currently the world's largest photovoltaic project using thin-film modules from First Solar Inc., the company says. Xantrex' inverters were installed to convert direct current power from the solar modules at the plant for delivery to the electric grid.
