Yamaichi Electronics Deutschland GmbH, based in Germany, has released the new Y-Sol4 F.A.T. (Free Assembly Type) photovoltaic connector. The connector is designed to reduce the time and expense involved with wiring modules in a PV system.
The F.A.T. connector requires just three steps for installation, and no special tools, the company says. The cut and insulated cable is inserted into the contact; the contact is sealed by hand, allowing the terminal contact to make contact with the copper flex of the cable; and the connector is then screwed in. Consequently, wiring can be carried out in the field, Yamaichi says.
