GT Solar Inc., a provider of manufacturing equipment and turnkey manufacturing solutions to the photovoltaic industry, has signed a $56 million contract with Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. for the next generation of silicon ingot furnaces – the DSS450 by GT Solar.
This is Yingli's fourth and largest order of GT Solar's DSS furnaces, which grow multicrystalline ingots up to 450 kg. The order is expected to bring Yingli's installed furnace capacity to approximately 600 MW in 2009.
