Yingli Green Energy Receives Japanese Certification

Yingli Green Energy says its wholly owned subsidiary, Yingli Green Energy Japan Corp. Ltd., has obtained the first JIS Q 8901 certification from TUV Rheinland Japan Ltd.

The JIS Q 8901 certification was established on Feb. 29, 2012, in an effort to encourage wider adoption of PV power generating systems, as well as to promote product reliability and user protection in Japan's solar market. The certification specifies requirements for reliability assurance system concerning design, production and product warranties for PV modules, Yingli says.

Japan's feed-in-tariff program, launched July 1, is expected to help accelerate the development of the industrial and residential PV markets, notes Masaki Mizuta, managing director of Yingli Japan.
