Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. has signed a supply agreement with Spain-based solar project developer Gestamp Solar for a 31.6 MW photovoltaic power plant in Daigo, Japan.

According to the agreement, Yingli will deliver more than 125,000 multicrystalline YGE 60-cell modules to Gestamp Solar from October through February 2015.

The solar power plant will be situated on a former golf course in Japan's Ibaraki Prefecture. The system is expected to generate approximately 32.7 GWh of electricity per year, with utility grid interconnection anticipated in the second quarter of 2015. Gestamp Solar is the sole owner of the project.

‘This is an important milestone for Gestamp Solar," says Jorge Barredo, CEO of Gestamp Solar." It is the largest single solar project to secure nonrecourse financing in Japan, and we are confident to see more projects on a similar scale in the future.’
