Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. has introduced its new high-efficiency N-type monocrystalline modules under the brand name Yingli Solar Panda.
The company expects to start commercialization of this new generation of modules on its 300 MW monocrystalline silicon-based manufacturing lines at its Baoding, China, headquarters in the third quarter of this year. The modules have earned TUV certificates.
The Yingli Solar Panda Module is based on N-type monocrystalline solar cells, which have been developed through Project PANDA and have an average efficiency higher than 18.5%, according to the company. Compared to traditional modules based on P-type solar cells, the Yingli Solar Panda Module features lower degradation and better performance under high temperatures or low irradiation conditions, Yingli Solar says.
