Chinese photovoltaic equipment manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. has announced its Singapore-based subsidiary will supply multicrystalline PV modules for a 10.269 MW solar power plant to be built in Gemas, Malaysia.
According to Yingli, the plant, which will incorporate 41,076 of its modules, will be situated on a 34-acre site and is expected to generate approximately 13.6 GWh per year. Construction of the facility is being managed by Amcorp Power, a subsidiary of the Amcorp Group Berhad, a Mayalysian investment holding company.
‘Southeast Asia is a very promising PV market given its rich solar radiation, serious lack of electricity and governments' strong interest in renewable energy applications,’ says Liansheng Miao, chairman and CEO of Yingli Green Energy.
