Thompson Hine LLP of counsel Michael J. Zimmer has been selected for two leadership positions in renewable energy. He was named to the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) National Leadership Council and co-chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources Committee.
The ACORE National Leadership Council aims to lead the renewable energy community to increasing levels of success, working in a collaborative manner on matters of common interest in business, finance and public policy. ACORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., with members representing every aspect and sector of the renewable energy industries and their trade associations.
Zimmer was appointed co-chair of the ABA Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources Committee (formerly the Renewable Energy Resources Committee) for a second year. The appointment is peer-nominated, and the term spans the ABA year, which began Aug. 1.
Zimmer focuses his practice on energy project development and regulation, climate change, energy project acquisitions and finance transactions. In more than 30 years of legal practice, he has worked with a broad range of clients in more than 35 states and 20 countries.
