Solar Promotion International GmbH and FMMI GmbH have announced that three of their North American events – Intersolar, ees (electrical energy storage) and Power2Drive North America – will be acquired by Maine-based international media company Diversified Communications.
In turn, the next Intersolar, ees and Power2Drive North America events – co-located for the past 11 years in San Francisco in July – will instead move to the San Diego Convention Center for Feb. 4-6, 2020. This July’s events in San Francisco have thus been canceled.
“Our interest in solar stems from our board of directors, and growing our own event series in solar and energy storage is an exciting way to further contribute to the renewable energy industry,” states Theodore Wirth, president and CEO of Diversified Communications, which owns and operates a 1.5 MW solar farm in Brunswick, Maine.
Dr. Florian Wessendorf, Solar Promotion International’s managing director, adds, “With the strong interest shown by Diversified and their desire to expand into the solar and storage market, it was an ideal time for us to turn over the next phase of growth to their very capable and experienced team.”
