DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions and JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. are introducing a new Jinko high-efficiency bifacial module called the Swan, which is protected by a clear DuPont Tedlar PVF film-based backsheet.
The panel will be the latest addition to JinkoSolar’s Cheetah premium range. Swan can achieve a high-power output of up to 400 W on the front side and up to a 20% energy gain from the rear side, according to the companies.
Leveraging clear DuPont backsheet materials, Swan can produce the same power output level as dual-glass bifacial modules, but it offers a lighter weight, easier installation and a 30-year power warranty, the partners say.
In addition, bifacial panels with a transparent backsheet can reduce the overall system installation cost, as the lower weight reduces costs related to mounting and module installation, compared with dual-glass bifacial modules with a frame.
