California-based Enphase Energy Inc., a global energy technology company and supplier of solar micro-inverters, has appointed Eric Branderiz its vice president and chief financial officer (CFO).

According to the company, Branderiz brings to Enphase more than 20 years of energy management, solar technology and semiconductor industry experience.

Prior to joining Enphase, Branderiz served as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Tesla Inc., where he was responsible for global financial accounting, external reporting and finance operations. He also served as senior vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer at SunPower Corp. Prior to that, he also served in financial leadership positions at the Knowledge Learning Corp. and Spansion Inc. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Ernst & Young LLP.

Branderiz succeeds Bert Garcia, who announced his resignation on May 1 and who will support the orderly transition of duties through June 30. Garcia was named CFO in August 2016, and in September 2016, the company announced it would be reducing its global workforce by about 11% in an effort to streamline its operations and remain competitive. A year later, then-president/CEO Paul Nahi announced his resignation after 10 years with the company.

“I am pleased to welcome Eric to our team,” says Badri Kothandaraman, president and CEO of Enphase Energy. “His executive management, finance, accounting and operations experience will benefit Enphase as we drive towards profitable top-line growth.”
