Barrette Outdoor Living (BOL), a supplier of exterior home products, has completed a rooftop solar array on its 400,000-square-foot Galloway, N.J., manufacturing facility.
This facility is the first BOL plant to go solar. The company has another project planned at its Brooksville, Fla., location later this year.
The 2.1 MW system is the result of a power purchase agreement between BOL and Dynamic Energy Solutions of Wayne, Pa. Dynamic Energy, a full-service solar solutions provider, designed and built the system for BOL.
The array comprises 6,554 solar photovoltaic modules, which are estimated to generate more than 2.6 MWh in their first year of operation. This will supply more than 50% of the facility’s electricity consumption and save BOL more than $6 million through the project’s lifetime.
“We are very excited to have completed one of the largest rooftop solar arrays in Atlantic County,” says Brett Thibodeau, president of Dynamic Energy Solutions. “As a sophisticated and innovative industrial manufacturer, Barrette’s decision to work with Dynamic to deploy solar at this scale is a testament to the substantial economic and operational benefits that these types of projects provide. We look forward to expanding our collaboration with them in years to come through additional projects.”
Dynamic and BOL also worked with Wunder Capital, which develops and manages solar investment funds, on the project.
“Barrette’s long-standing operating history and strong financial position coupled with Dynamic Energy’s leadership in the C&I solar space made for a very strong credit profile, and thus a quick financing process,” says Noah Kirsch, director of finance at Wunder Capital. “We’re excited to be helping to bring more solar to New Jersey with the Dynamic team.”
