Beaumont Solar, a full-service solar provider, has completed a 2.2 MW rooftop PV system at the headquarters of a New England wine and spirit distributor. Martignetti Companies’ new 680,305 square-foot building, located in Taunton, Mass., now features 7,030 solar modules.

Beaumont Solar says that due to the regulatory complexity and tight program deadlines, the project involved working closely with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources to ensure eligibility under the Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC II) program, assurance of interconnection and negotiation of net metering with the Taunton Municipal Light and Power (TMLP) transmission and distribution teams, and other parties before construction commenced. With net metering secured, Beaumont adds, Martignetti Companies is not paying higher energy rates for consumption during non-production hours.

“We are honored that Martignetti Companies has chosen to work with us on their solar project,” comments Phil Cavallo, president and CEO of Beaumont Solar. “Leveraging over 10 years of industry experience, we were able to provide Martignetti with a customized solution that meets their unique needs and business goals. In this case, we utilized GameChange racking with wind deflectors for the low ballast weight this particular building’s design called for.”
