Golden, Colo.-based SunTrac Solar has developed a new 10-foot version of its tracking flat-plate/parabolic solar thermal concentrator, expanding on the company's original TC-27 eight-foot panel.
The new TC-40 model offers 25% more panel surface area than the TC-27, which equates to a total of about 36 feet of parabolic surface. The result is a higher Btu output with less racking, lower installation costs, and less roof- or ground-mounted space required for comparable solar thermal systems, the company says.
SunTrac notes that the Btu output for the TC-40 panel ranges from 30,000 to 45,000 Btu per panel per day.
