Trillium, a provider of renewable fuels and alternative fueling solutions and a member of the Love’s Family of Companies, recently installed an on-site solar system at a Love’s Travel Stop in Santa Nella, Calif.
The system, which is Trillium’s first solar installation, began generating electricity for the travel stop last month, offsetting a large percentage of the facility’s electricity consumption.
Trillium designed and built the project, which is the second Love’s location to run off solar power. Love’s first solar system was installed at a Las Vegas location in 2016. The new ground-mounted PV system at Santa Nella will generate more than 300,000 kWh annually.
Trillium will continue to design and build on-site solar projects for additional Love’s Travel Stop locations in California and Illinois next year. In addition to solar projects, Trillium will install an EV charging station at the Santa Nella location and additional Love’s locations in the future.
“Our Santa Nella location is a milestone for Trillium,” says Frank Love, co-CEO of Love’s. “As Trillium continues leading the way in alternative fueling solutions, we look forward to watching growth with new customers within transit agencies and trucking companies.”
